Proserpine and the Elixir of the Gods



A long winded title to a short lived piece of artwork. Seen in progress and completed, the creeping shadow gives an idea of the hours spent laying chalk and pastel into pavement: about 15 hours over two days.



Having Victoriana on the brain, in light of the reading just the week before, I chose to design a tribute to D.G. Rossetti's "Proserpine". Note the substitution of the espresso cup and stovetop press in the foreground.
