On January 6, 2008, five Iranian patrol boats approached three U.S. Navy warships in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz: the cruiser USS Port Royal, the destroyer USS Hopper and the frigate USS Ingraham.

The events that followed shocked the world – but The Filipino Monkey is not their story. It is the story of how their story was told – and how their story was sold – one Monkey at a time.
