Mad as a March Hare?

Not when the month of May promises more mischief than all the fools of April put together.

May 1 - LONG ELECTION DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, at O'Neill Foundation's Playwright's Theatre.

May 2 - LONG ELECTION DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, at Wily West Productions' New Play Festival.

May 15 - PASSENGER: A Musical Outbreak at End Times in New York.

05 March, 2011

3 months, 4 plays, 1 retrospective look

Is it March already? There goes a quarter of the year, and productively, to boot.

January:
When Playground-SF asked for a 8 page short musical submission, I turned around and gave them a real crowd pleaser: Passenger : a plague musical!

Strangely enough, it wasn't selected. However, thanks to a little persistence and a lot of Brian Adam Mccune, the Passenger is getting ready to ride!

Remember, kids:

is for Ebola.

is for Flu, Spanish

February:

Two tales find fruition:

JOSE RIZAL ON ANGEL ISLAND debuts at Bindlestiff's Wordy Word open mike, and at Stories High 12 at the Passion Cafe. Alan Quismorio directed Ogie Zulueta (aea) and Jon Gentry (aea) in a brilliant rendition of the one-act script.

#CAIRO, written over the Valentine weekend and Egyptian revolution, hit the stage after only 96 hours of writing. Jim Kleinmann directed the piece at Berkeley Rep through Playground-SF.

Jim and I ended with this song. You may recall it from the trailer of Watchmen.

March:

In Oakland, you put on the fancy pants.
In Kalamazoo, the Fancy Pants put on you!
Fancy Pants Theatre, that is.
THE FELLOWSHIP, directed by Cornelius Davidson, is to be staged in the audience competition Director's Festival this March 12 in Kalamazoo.
We end with this song.

And if you're in San Francisco, check out the Bay One Acts all through the month of March, curated by Jessica Holt, dramaturged by moí, and featuring a crop of bay area phenoms.

April:

Sleep, sleep, and Taxes.
